Goal Area #1

COMMUNITY CAPACITY / BUILDING MOBILIZATION
Access funding for implementation of Welcoming Communities initiatives
Engage and Identify new committee members and formalize current and future partnerships
  Complete a needs assessment in the region to identify opportunities and gaps in programs and services as well as identify demographics of area served.
Develop a terms of reference for the committee.
Educate and engage employers of newcomers.

INFORMAL AND FORMAL COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND PARTICIPATION
Increase cultural awareness in the community.
Celebrate cultural diversity in the community on a regular basis.
Ensure employers are equipped to handle cultural diversities.
Provide a wide range of programming in the community for newcomers and existing community members.
Provide opportunities for existing community members to volunteer and mentor newcomers.
Ensure communication links between members of the committee and participants in programs.
